We produced this personalized timepiece for retired U.S. NASA Astronaut – CAPT Winston “SLICK” Scott; with STS-72 and STS-87. His watch design was tailored around his service in the military, and his time with NASA.
The dial features the front-view of the U.S. Space Shuttle at the 6-position with the STS-72 Patch at the 9-position and U.S. Naval Astronaut wings at the 12-position. Under the shuttle is stated the date commemorating the space mission: NASA 1992.
The caseback engraving features his military patch, and some space mission specs, including “time in space” (which was – 24D : 14H : 35M).
The watch is constructed of 316L surgical grade stainless steel, and uses sapphire crystal glass with inner anti-reflective coating. The watch uses screw-in crown and caseback, to ensure the water depth rating of 300 meters / 1,000 feet. The bezel is a uni-directional bezel.
It was a deep honor for us at SwissPL to work with Mr. Scott to design and produce his custom timepiece.
