Tactical at Golden Gate Bridge

This is our Tactical timepiece posing proudly at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA. On a cold and windy day, the bridge stood below us tower above the ocean.

John C. Fremont had distinguished himself as an engineer, geographer, scientific collector and explorer, a glamorous career that earned him the nickname “the Pathfinder.” Fremont’s published journal officially applied the name “Golden Gate” to the entrance to San Francisco Bay; he named the strait ‘Chrysopylae’, or ‘Golden Gate’, after Constantinople’s Golden Horn, in 1846, just two years before gold was discovered at Sutter’s Mill, California.
