Nice gesture my son never forgot.

Nice gesture my son never forgot.

My oldest son and I were at the Andrews AFB air show. My son was about 15 years old. We had talked the Harrier pilot into escorting us to the hot line to see his jet that he had flown in the Harrier demo.

As we walked down the flightline, SNORT was coming back after flying a routine in his Mustang. My son was wearing one of his favorite blue t-shirts with nothing but big letters on the front, "F-14 TOMCAT".

As SNORT walked toward us, he nodded to my son, pointed at the shirt and said, "Nice shirt!" My son was flattered. I explained later who this guy was, and my son was even more flattered. It was a nice gesture that my son never forgot.
